About 20% cost reduction and significant reduction in analysis time by building and visualizing data analysis infrastructure
Since its establishment in 1952, Konaka has expanded their business with a focus on suits. In October of 2016 they launched “Difference”, an app for people to personalize their suits. It was previously operated on Amazon Web Services (hereon referred to as AWS), but in order to solve issues with cost and other factors, Cloud Ace supported their migration to Google Cloud.
Issues
KONAKA operated on AWS through a vendor, but they felt there was an issue with the speed of DMS and BI tools. They also felt that the cost of requesting work was high, so it was difficult to make these requests.
In addition, there was a license fee for BI tools, so they wanted to decrease costs.
Approach & project results
We migrated the analysis platform built on AWS to Google Cloud.
We were able to shorten the analysis time and reduce costs by around 20% by using BigQuery for the data parts, and using the dashboard’s filter functions in place of the previous analysis done through vendor requests.
We also succeeded in reducing costs by replacing Tableau with Data Portal for BI tools.
By completing the tasks above, it became possible to increase the analysis loads for new customer requests, making BI more useful for management.
